The St. Maarten resort offers 171 guestrooms and suites in 34 three-story buildings (no elevators) with Moorish styling and pastel-green exteriors. Furnished balconies offer views of the Oyster Pond marina on one side of the peninsula occupied by the resort, the Atlantic Ocean on the peninsula's opposite side, or gardens within the resort complex.
One- and two-bedroom suites include fully equipped kitchens. All rooms and suites at Oyster Bay Beach Resort include a tropical decor of rattan furniture, pale-yellow walls, and fabrics in various shades of blue. Ceiling fans complement air conditioning. Driving directions from Queen Juliana International Airport: Depart airport and turn right. First follow signs toward Philipsburg. Bear left on main road when approaching pond approximately 6.5 km (4 mi) from airport and begin following signs to resort and/or to Oyster Pond/Dawn Beach.

Getting around: The hotel staff summons taxis on request. Motor scooters and bicycles can be rented through the resort's concierge for delivery to the resort. Evening shuttles (surcharges) run from the resort to Grand Case Village, the French side of the island's dining center, on Tuesdays; to the French capital of Marigot on Wednesdays; and to the Dutch side's shopping, dining, and entertainment center of Maho on Thursdays.
Activities
A narrow freeform 45.75-m (150-ft) pool with a shallow children's end features an infinity edge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean between two gentle coralstone waterfalls. Adjacent to the pool is an eight-person spa tub. A sundeck at one end of the pool is furnished with cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas.
Most of the resort's ocean front consists of coral ledges, but the resort's south end abuts the north end of 800-m (875-yd) Dawn Beach. The resort provides cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas on a 40-m (44-yd) section of the beach.
The resort offer complimentary snorkeling gear and books scuba-diving and snorkeling excursions, including half-day snorkeling trips to three little islands nearby. Independent operators on Dawn Beach rent out kayaks and boogie boards as well as offer other water sports like wakeboarding. More water sports are available along Orient Beach (Baie Orientale) 6.5 km (4 mi) north on the island's French side.
Fishing charters are available at the Oyster Pond marina on the opposite side of the resort's peninsula from the ocean.
