Hotel Information: Tucked away in a very secluded enclave of Longboat Key, the resort is set along an 800-foot-long white-sand beach bordering the azure Gulf of Mexico. Three-story buildings arrayed in clusters along the shore house the one- and two-bedroom suites. Vacationing couples and families are attracted to the resort’s top-seeded tennis facilities, sandy beach, and activities for all ages.

The resort offers 21 hard and clay courts, complimentary court time, 10 instructors, clinics, round robins, and even a Tiny Tots Tennis program for children 6 and under. This island Colony Beach Resort on the Gulf of Mexico features 21 tennis courts, a spa, a fitness center, and a freshwater pool overlooking the private, sandy beach. The Colony Dining Room offers sophisticated Continental cuisine and superb views of the Gulf. Indoor and alfresco dining are available at the Monkey Room, wittily decorated with a monkey motif.
This resort provides complimentary supervised activities for youngsters age 3-12, in addition to a playground. The water-sports center rents kayaks, Hobie Cats, windsurfers, boogie boards, and other equipment.

Kinder Kamp (ages 3 – 6) and Kidding Around (ages 7 – 12) are the Colony's two complimentary children's programs, offered 365 days a year. The programs are held whether there be one child or a hundred who opt to participate. From 9 AM to noon and from 1 PM – 4 PM, kids can choose from a variety of activities that draw from the natural surroundings of the resort, including nature walks, sailing instruction, kayaking clinics, shell collecting, scavenger hunts, fishing, beach games, swimming, creative arts projects, and tennis instruction. Trained and qualified professionals who have a recreation and/or education background supervise all programs. Other programs offered on a seasonal basis include Family Fare (ages 13-17), an interactive program for children and their parents.

This Colony Beach Resort offers 234 one- and two-bedroom suites, located in 18 three-story buildings clustered along the white-sand beach.
Suites have furnished balconies with views of the garden or tennis courts. Each suite includes a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, and dishes. Separate living rooms have wicker-frame furniture with floral-pattern upholstery. Master bathrooms feature a jetted tub, steam shower, and separate mirrored dressing area.
