Hotel Information: This vast 32-acre property boasts the largest private meeting facilities in San Diego, attracting numerous conventioneers and their families. Despite being geared toward the convention trade, this is a casual and relaxed place, with plenty of options either for peace and privacy or for networking and socializing.

Amenity highlights: The Bella Tosca Day Spa & Salon offers numerous spa and salon services. It offers a fitness center (surcharge), sauna, steam room, and hot tub. The resort includes more than 1,500 rose bushes, 2,000 palm trees, four outdoor swimming pools, and dining terraces. Guests receive preferred tee times at the adjacent Riverwalk Golf Club’s 27-hole championship course. High-speed Internet access is available in the business center (surcharge).

Insider tip: Cross the San Diego River on the short foot bridge behind the resort’s Royal Palm Tower to access the Fashion Valley Trolley Station, with connections to Qualcomm Stadium, historic Old Town, Downtown San Diego, and the international border. Or, continue walking to Fashion Valley Mall, home of major department stores, an 18-screen movie theater, and more than 200 specialty shops.

In addition, guests will find barber and beauty salons, two gift shops, four outdoor swimming pools, an outdoor whirlpool spa, and complimentary weekday newspapers.

San Diego International Airport (SAN): Approximate driving time to the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center is 15 minutes and distance is seven miles.

Driving directions from San Diego International Airport: Follow signs for I-5 N and from I-5, take I-8 E. Take the second exit for Hotel Circle, turn left onto Hotel Circle, pass under the freeway overpass, and Town and Country Resort & Convention Center is on the right.

Getting there: Most guests take a shuttle (Cloud 9 fare is $5–$15 one-way) or a taxi (fare is $16–$25.) Rental cars, Town Cars, and limousines are more than $36. Fees are subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online.

Getting around: This is a commercial area with other hotels and some dining in the immediate area. For shopping, and more dining and entertainment choices, guests can either walk to the Fashion Valley Mall a few blocks away, or use the hotel courtesy van which drops guests off at Fashion Valley Mall, Old Town, and Mission Valley shopping center. The trolley’s blue line leaves from Fashion Valley Mall Transit Center for downtown. Public buses stop in front of the hotel. Both trolley and buses provide access to the Coaster commuter lines (nearest stop is Old Town Transit Center) and the greater San Diego area. One-way bus, trolley, and Coaster fares are less than $5. Rental cars may be the easiest way to get to numerous attractions in greater San Diego. Driving involves frequent use of freeways and in the downtown core, one-way streets. Water taxis travel across San Diego Bay, stopping at various points; most one-way fares are $5–$15; reservations preferred. Ferries cross between Broadway Pier and the Ferry Landing Marketplace on Coronado for less than $5 one-way. Fees are subject to change without notice.
