Hotel Information: The Grand Sierra Resort & Casino's sprawling 200,000-square-foot meeting and convention center hums with commercial activity all week long. There is an abundance of onsite recreation, and an 80,000-square-foot casino attracts a large leisure crowd, especially on weekends. Ten restaurants are on site, and headlining entertainment acts are also featured at the hotel.

Driving directions from Reno-Tahoe International Airport: Follow signs to take Rte 395 northbound. Take Exit 66 (Mill St) and stay in the center lane. The resort is directly ahead.

Getting there: Grand Sierra Resort & Casino has a complimentary airport shuttle that runs between 5 AM and 11 PM daily (hours and availability subject to change without notice).

Getting around: The best way to get around the area is by rental car.

Activities

On-site recreation includes a health spa (surcharge) complete with climbing wall, bowling, and golf. Treadmills, elliptical machines, stairsteppers, stationary bikes, and free weights are also provided. Walkers, runners, bikers, and ‘bladers can use the Truckee River Recreation Trail that travels past the hotel along Reno’s resident waterway, while adrenaline junkies head for the Ultimate Rush Speed and Thrill Park.

The on-site Snowind Sports shop rents, sells, and services outdoor equipment, including skis and snowboards, in-line skates, and mountain bikes, as well as safety accessories and clothing.

The Lodge Buffet - In addition to shrimp, crab, and prime rib, 20 other entrees and side dishes are served nightly at The Lodge Buffet. This restaurant was recently renovated in a vintage Tahoe style, with heavy wood beams overhead, river-rock walls, and carved wooden bears. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a weekend brunch available on Saturday and Sunday.

Round Table Pizza - Thin- and thick-crust pizzas and other Italian favorites are offered at this family-friendly chain located on the Arcade Level next to Fun Quest.

Crystal Lounge - In the center of the casino’s restaurant row. Menu includes wine, liquor, a variety of beers, and appetizers. Featuring entertainment from Chris Costa, the man of 1,000 voices.

Escalator - This popular bar is at the top of the main escalator.

Reserve - Wine bar with more than 80 red and white wines and champagnes. Sommelier on staff.

Mustang Bar - A country music venue, featuring live acts and celebrity deejays.
