Hotel Information: Inspired by Art Deco boutique hotels in Miami's South Beach, the San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel attracts couples with its sleek design elements such as waterfall walls in the lobby, hallways, and elevators, and an unabashed romantic ambience. The small, limestone-floor lobby sets the tone with frosted glass, a violet-lighted ceiling, two-story white sheer curtains, and an acrylic waterfall wall. Chrome-door elevators offer clear-ceilinged views of mechanical workings illuminated by blue fluorescent lights.
Amenity highlights: On the roof are a bar/lounge/sushi bar named Wet and a 20-by-10-foot rooftop pool. Adjacent to the pool are lounge chairs and a white-vinyl lounging bed measuring 12 by 10 feet. The rooftop provides panoramic ocean and city views. Isla Verde beach, a two-mile stretch of light-golden sand washed by gentle Atlantic Ocean surf, lies across the dead end of a short, low-traffic street in front of the hotel. Rooms at the San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel feature beds angled to capture morning light through windows and a contemporary decor of pale-wood floors and all-white interiors, including a wall of sheer white curtains. Mahogany-colored headboards provide dual reading lights. Headboards fold down and convert to small clear-acrylic desks.

Driving directions from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport: Exit right onto Av Baldoriotyde Castro/Rte 26 towards San Juan and take the first exit, marked Piñones onto Rte 187. At the traffic light, turn left onto Rte 37/Av Isla Verde. Turn right onto Calle Tartak. San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel is at the end of Tartak, on the left.
Getting there: The best way is by tourist taxis which charge a flat fee in the $5–$15 range. Rental cars, Town Cars, and limousines are more than $36. Fees subject to change without notice. Rental cars are available online.
Getting around: The hotel’s location in Isla Verde means plenty of restaurants, stores, bars, nightclubs, and the beach are in the immediate area and walkable. To explore more of the city, take AMA or Metrobus public buses from stops marked “Parada” for fares less than $5. Fees subject to change without notice. A5 stops on Ave Isla Verde and travels to the other popular tourist areas of Condado and Old San Juan. Once in Old San Juan, it’s simplest to stroll, but hopping on and off the district’s open-air trolleys is free. The narrow streets and lack of parking can make driving particularly difficult in Old San Juan and in general, visitors may find local driving habits are aggressive and require caution. Taxis outside of tourist areas charge metered fares. Ferries run from the pier in Old San Juan across the bay to Cataño for less than $5 and from Fajardo on the east coast to the islands of Vieques and Culebra for fares of less than $5. Fees subject to change without notice. Various públicos or passenger vans travel around the island but can be slow as drivers wait for a full van. The main terminal is on the waterfront in Old San Juan.
