Hotel Information: The 941-room resort attracts guests from Europe and North America intent on having a good time in the tropical sun. The energetic activities/entertainment staff has no trouble recruiting participants for group fun, and a lively atmosphere prevails.
Amenity highlights: Turquoise water lapping the mile-long beach stays calm thanks to giant sand bags forming man-made reefs. The long sand bags serve as sunbathing platforms and social centers. Vigorous guests also perform belly slides on them. Three pools and two children's pools offer water fun. At 11 PM, the lane running through Pueblo Principe, the shopping/entertainment village, is closed off for a street party that might rock until dawn.
Insider tip: Drinks at Pueblo Principe's casino are not part of the All-Inclusive Plan. Savvy imbibers bring along drinks from the street party going on outside that is part of the All-Inclusive Plan.

Driving directions from Puerto Plata Gregorio Luperón International Airport: Outside airport, turn right and continue on Highway 5 until the resort sign. Turn left into the resort.

Getting around: Wheels are needed to travel outside the property. Complimentary bicycles are available and rental of motorcycles can be arranged. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the towns of Sosúa and Cabarete for less than $5 a person. Otherwise, taxis are recommended. Taxis to the nearest town of Rio San Juan are $15 (approximately), including a short wait for guests while they shop.
