Driving directions from Newark Airport: Follow signs to take US 1/US 9 north to I-95 (New Jersey Turnpike) north (toll road). Take I-495 to the Lincoln Tunnel and exit to West Side Highway/40th Street. Turn right onto West 42nd Street, then left onto Eighth Avenue. Turn right onto West 44th Street. The hotel is just past Seventh Avenue on the left.
Getting there: From LaGuardia and JFK, the most convenient option is a taxi ($25–$45 for 1-4 passengers). Those traveling light from JFK can also choose the Air Train ($5), but this service can take up to 90 minutes to Midtown Manhattan and involves a change of trains at Jamaica Station. From Newark, travelers can take a bus ($5–$15) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal (five blocks from the hotel), then take a taxi or walk to the hotel.
Private cars and shuttle vans of varying prices also are available. They can be selected during the process of booking a reservation for this hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.
Getting around: Walking is a good way to reach nearby shops and attractions and to experience the city. For other destinations, the subway is a low-cost, fast choice (less than $5), especially during peak traffic. Four subway stations are within three blocks of the hotel. Taxis are usually readily available, except during rush hour. Because of high traffic volumes and very limited parking, cars are generally not recommended.
