Hotel Information: Situated on more than a half-mile of secluded beach on the Caribbean Sea, this resort showcases acclaimed architecture honoring Mayan and Mexican tradition.
Amenity highlights: The resort houses a health spa with about 40 holistic and natural treatments using English essential oils and naturally derived herbal and flower extracts. A fusion of indigenous treatments is based on ancient Mayan wisdom combined with current technologies. Other hotel amenities include a spa tub, pool complex, and swim-up bar. Each villa has a butler and personalized butler services such as unpacking or packing luggage are offered to all guests. A complimentary Continental breakfast can be delivered each morning to guestrooms.
Insider tip: Located on the beach is an igloo-like temazcal, or Mayan sweat lodge. At sunset and with reservations, guests enter the torch-lit lodge for an ancient purification ritual in which they are enveloped by herb-scented steam from water poured on hot volcanic rocks. (Surcharges may apply.)
Property Amenities
Designed by renowned Mexican architect Luis Segura, Ceiba Del Mar Spa Resort was renovated in summer 2006 with seven three- and four-story buildings. A butler is assigned to each building. Decor includes antiques, hand-carved benches, wood-latticed windows, a 300-year-old stained-glass window in the lobby bar, and a carved rock depicting the sacred Mayan ceiba tree.
Padded wood lounge chairs face the sea; the pool complex spans two levels: the upper includes a round pool and the lower features a freeform pool, large spa tub, and swim-up bar. The resort also offers a lending library stocked with videos and CDs (complimentary). Like all major Riviera Maya hotels, the hotel has a water-purification system.
The on-site spa offers 40 holistic and natural treatments. Trained therapists are required to continue an ongoing program of education.

All accommodations feature balconies or terraces with hammocks and either partial or full ocean views. Other amenities include CD- and DVD-players, and alarm clocks that also function as MP3 docking stations.
Cotton robes, slippers, and a pillow menu are provided. As part of evening turndown service, guests receive a handcrafted gift and accommodations are lit with votive candles; beds are decorated with bougainvillea petals and chocolates.

Important Information
Small pets (maximum weight limit of nine kilograms or 20 pounds) are allowed at this resort. Pets must be on leash at all times while on property; they are not permitted in the restaurant or pool areas.
