Barcelo Maya Beach Resort All Inclusive offers 1,020 guestrooms in five three-story buildings with elevators. Featuring exteriors in rich colors, buildings contain outsize Mayan-style sculptures and garden courtyards. Sheltered by an offshore coral reef, the resort's beachfront extends 2.5 km (1.5 mi). Each of the resort's two sides (Beach and Caribe) features a freeform pool. Measuring approximately 100 meters (109 yards) long, the Caribe "quiet pool" includes a separate children's section, a swim-up bar, and jetted sections. Measuring approximately 125 meters (137 yards) long, the Beach activities pool also includes a separate children's section, a swim-up bar, and jetted sections and features a fountain. Both pools are bordered by shaded hammock areas.

The resort supplies kayaks, snorkeling gear (one hour per day), pedal boats, and windsurfers and small sailboats for which reservations and basic skills are required. Land sports include an 18-hole miniature golf course, a four-hole pitch-and-putt course, and five lighted tennis courts.
