Located in two 11-story towers connected by a mezzanine, all 759 nonsmoking guestrooms offer private, furnished lanais. Rooms have island decor and The Westin Heavenly Beds with 13-inch pillowtop mattresses, five down pillows, white duvets, and triple sheeting. Amenities include compact refrigerators, 32-inch TVs, laptop-compatible safes (surcharge), coffeemakers, and cordless phones. Driving directions from Kapalua West Maui Airport:
- Exit the airport and turn left onto Hwy 30.
- Drive past the first two entrances to Kaanapali Resort and proceed to the third entrance.
- Turn right onto Kaanapali Pkwy, and proceed one-third mile to hotel on left.
Kahului Airport (OGG): Approximate driving time to The Westin Maui Resort and Spa is 45 minutes, and distance is 32 miles.
Driving directions from Kahului Airport:
- Exit the airport on Keolani Pl and proceed one mile.
- Stay in the middle lane and continue onto Dairy Rd / Hwy 380, which becomes Kuihelani Hwy / Hwy 380 at the intersection with Puunene Ave.
- Continue straight on Hwy 380 for five miles until it ends.
- Turn left onto Honoapiilani Hwy / Hwy 30 and proceed 18 miles.
- After passing Lahaina, turn left onto Kaanapali Pkwy at a traffic light at the entrance to Kaanapali Resort.
Getting there: Rental cars are the best option from either airport, and they are available online. Taxis cost approximately $14 from Kapalua and $60 from Kahului; prices subject to change. Commercial airport shuttles can be arranged and may cost slightly less. Shuttle service from Kapalua Airport is included in the Westin's daily resort fee (upon request, subject to availability).
Getting around: Scheduled shuttle service (surcharge) is available to Lahaina and Kapalua. Rental cars are recommended for farther Maui travel.
Activities
The centerpiece of the resort is its 87,000-square-foot aquatic playground with five interconnected pools, spa tubs, swim-through grottos, waterfalls, meandering streams, and a 128-foot water slide. Scuba-diving lessons and other aquatic classes are offered daily (surcharge).
The ocean-view fitness center has free weights, strength-training equipment, and cardiovascular machines with individual TVs.
The 15,000-square-foot spa (surcharge) offers 16 treatment rooms, an outdoor yoga garden, an ocean-view lounge, and men's and women's locker rooms with saunas, steam rooms, and spa tubs.
Westin Kids Club (surcharge) specializes in Hawaiian cultural activities for children ages 5–12.
At the adjacent Kaanapali Beach, rentals are available for water activities such as snorkeling, catamaran sailing, parasailing, and kayaking. Guests can also rent lounge chairs and cabanas.
The resort is within a half-mile of Kaanapali's two 18-hole golf courses, including the Tournament North Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The Kapalua Golf Courses and golf academy are seven miles away.
Sight-seeing and whale-watching cruises, deep-sea fishing excursions, and water-sports rentals are available at Lahaina Harbor, four miles away.
