Kahului Airport (OGG): Approximate driving time to Outrigger Royal Kahana is 45 minutes, and distance is 30 miles.
Driving directions from Kahului Airport:
- Drive southwest on Hwy 380.
- After about 10 miles, turn right on Hwy 30, towards Lahaina.
- After another 6 miles, turn left on Hoohui St, then right onto Lower Honoapiilani Rd.
- The Royal Kahana is on the left.
Getting there: Rental cars are the best option from either airport, and they are available online. Taxis cost approximately $14 from Kapalua and $60 from Kahului. Airport shuttles can be arranged and may cost slightly less. All prices are subject to change.
Getting around: Rental cars are recommended for travel on the island of Maui. Scheduled shuttle service (surcharge) is available to Lahaina and Kapalua.
Activities
A sundeck houses a freeform splash pool, four barbecue grills, and a poolside cabana that can be rented for private parties. Guests also enjoy two lighted tennis courts, a Ping-Pong table, shuffleboard, and a fitness center with free weights, cardiovascular and weight machines, and a sauna.
The Royal Kahana is adjacent to a sandy swimming beach, and whale watching is available in winter. The five championship golf courses of the Kapalua and Kaanapali Resorts are within three miles. Ocean activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, catamaran cruising, and kayaking are also available at the resorts (surcharge).
