Hotel Information: Guests check in at a lobby with wicker and rattan couches before heading to condos housed in 10 four-story buildings. Located on the quieter end of busy South Kihei, across the street from Kamaole Beach Park III, the 15-acre Castle Kamaole Sands draws families and other leisure travelers with its tropical landscaping and recreation facilities.
Amenity highlights: In addition to the swimming beach across the street, guests enjoy a large outdoor pool with two spa tubs, a children’s wading pool, four tennis courts, a fitness center, and eight barbecues with picnic areas. A complimentary weekly mai tai pool party is hosted every Wednesday. Computer kiosks (surcharge) are located in the lobby and fitness room.
Insider tip: The largest of Kihei’s three oceanfront parks, Kamaole Beach Park III is popular with locals, but the ocean may be even gentler at Keawakapu Beach, a half-mile south at the entrance to Wailea.

Ten, four-story buildings house 196 nonsmoking, single-and multi-bedroom condo units, accessible by elevators and exterior corridors. Air-conditioned units at Castle Kamaole Sands, a Condominium Resort offer private, furnished lanais; ceiling fans; two bathrooms; and washers and dryers.
The Kihei resort offers kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, ovens, stoves, coffeemakers, cookware, and dinnerware. Other amenities include 27-inch TVs with cable channels and VCRs, high-speed or wireless Internet access (surcharge, based on availability), and in-room safes (surcharge). Daily housekeeping is provided.

Kahului Airport (OGG): Approximate driving time to Castle Kamaole Sands, a Condominium Resort is 25 minutes and distance is 14 miles.
Driving directions from Kahului Airport:
- Exit the airport on Keolani Pl.
- Stay in the middle lane and continue through the first traffic light onto Dairy Rd / Hwy 380.
- Proceed one mile on Hwy 380.
- At a traffic light, turn left onto S Puunene Ave / Hwy 350, which after one-half mile veers right and becomes Mokulele Hwy / Hwy 311.
- Continue on Hwy 311 for about six miles.
- At a traffic light, turn left onto Piilani Hwy / Hwy 31 and proceed about five miles.
- Make a sharp right turn onto Alanui Kealii Dr, and proceed one-half mile until the road ends.
- Turn left onto S Kihei Rd, and hotel is about one-half mile on left.
Getting there: Rental cars are the best option, and they are available online. Taxis cost approximately $45. Airport shuttles can be arranged and may cost less.
Getting around: Rental cars are recommended for travel in the area and to farther island destinations. Another option is the Maui Bus (less than $5), which serves Kihei and Wailea during the day.
Activities
The 15-acre, Kihei grounds include ponds, a fountain, and four complimentary tennis courts (surcharge for equipment, reservations required). A large sundeck houses a rectangular pool, two spa tubs, and a children’s wading pool. A fitness center provides a weight machine and treadmills.
Across the street from the complex, Kamaole Beach Park III offers water activities, picnic tables, sports fields, and a playground.
During winter months, whales can often be spotted across from the hotel.
Wailea Golf Club's championship golf courses are three miles away.
