Hotel Information: A nine-story atrium lobby with waterfalls, seashell motif, and saltwater aquarium sets the tone at this oceanfront resort. Three tiered buildings are arrayed beside the pool complex, which features a whale waterslide, spa tubs, and a wide array of scheduled activities. The resort caters to groups and families, many of whom return annually. The resort was renovated in June 2007.
Amenity highlights: The 10,000-square-foot European-style Spa at Villa del Palmar offers treatments such as the Sea of Cortez Discovery Massage, poolside massage, aromatherapy baths, and the Milk and Honey Body Wrap (surcharges apply; advance reservations recommended).
The centerpiece of the Villa Del Palmar Resort is the pool complex with three pools: an adults-only freeform pool, an activity pool, and a relaxation pool with infinity-edge spa tub.
Bella California, one of the resort’s two restaurants, features open-air dining and views of El Arco—the natural-arch landmark—and the Sea of Cortez.
Insider tip: Guests can meet in the lobby every Thursday afternoon for a catamaran sunset tour of El Arco and the Cabo coastline (surcharge applies). From December through March, grey whales can be seen on the tour. Also included on the two-hour trip are snacks and domestic drinks.
Property Amenities
The Cabo San Lucas hotel completed a multimillion dollar renovation in 2007. The hotel's pool, two restaurants, miniature golf course were among the public areas that received a facelift.
Kids in Paradise, for children ages 4–12, provides supervised care, arts and crafts, meals, and pool activities (surcharge applies). It’s open daily except Saturday. The club also hosts twice-weekly evening parties for children with dinner, games, and a kids’ club T-shirt. Babysitting services are also available.
In addition to the spa, the resort features a fitness center, aerobics/yoga studio with daily classes, and beauty salon (surcharges apply).
Villa del Palmar Resort and Spa maintains a hospitality suite for guests, ideal for late checkouts. It has a full bathroom and kitchen, plus a sitting area with TV and pool table. Room Descriptions
This Cabo San Lucas, Mexico resort offers 458 air-conditioned suites, each with private balcony with a table and two chairs and views of the garden and pool or the ocean.
Villa del Palmar Resort and Spa completed renovations of its guestrooms in June 2007. Guestrooms were remodeled with new furniture, new bedding, and new fixtures. The hotel also added wireless Internet access to its guestrooms during this latest renovation.
Generously sized suites range from 592 to 860 square feet. All include kitchens with two electric stovetop burners, full-size refrigerator, microwave, blender, coffeemaker, pots and pans, service for four, and marble breakfast bar with barstools. Separate living rooms are decorated in soothing light blues, purples, and creams, with wicker furniture and Mexican tile floors. Bathrooms feature deep marble tubs and painted porcelain accessories.

Getting around: The resort is located just west of Cabo San Lucas right on the Bahía de Cabo San Lucas. The resort is a short taxi ride from downtown Cabo San Lucas. Taxis are plentiful in Cabo San Lucas and are a convenient way to get around the city: $5–15 US. Since the streets of Cabo San Lucas are often congested and parking is at a premium, the easiest ways to explore downtown Cabo San Lucas is by foot. Activities
The Villa Del Palmar has three pools: an adults-only freeform pool, an activities pool with orca waterslide and spa tub, and a relaxation pool with infinity-edge spa tub. There are also four tennis courts, all lighted (surcharge for night use), with a tennis pro and complimentary introductory lesson. The hotel’s white-sand beach has a concession stand for non-motorized water sports. Also on site are a nine-hole miniature-golf course, scooter and ATV rentals, and horseback riding on the beach.
Several 18-hole golf courses are within a 10-minute drive. Also nearby are fishing charters, area tours, and cruises to watch the sunset or the seasonal migration of grey whales.
