Getting there: The Heathrow Express train takes 15 minutes non-stop from the airport to Paddington Station in the centre of London. Trains leave every 15 minutes and the standard single fare is £14.50. Paddington station is connected to the London Underground system, and the nearest underground stations to Grosvenor House are Marble Arch (500 metres away) and Bond Street (700 metres). Heathrow Airport is also on the Underground’s Piccadilly Line. Trains depart approximately every 10 minutes and the journey takes around 60 minutes to central London. A one-day travel card including travel to Heathrow costs £6.30. Black taxi cabs wait outside each terminal, and typically cost around £50 to central London. Coaches also run to London Victoria station, while local buses also serve Heathrow. All prices subject to change.
Getting around: The easiest way to get around London is by using the Underground (Tube) or bus services. Single cash tickets are expensive and for the cheapest fares, an electronic Oyster card is recommended; these are available from ticket offices for a refundable deposit of £3 (subject to change). Day or weekly travel cards are the most cost efficient option and are valid on the Underground, buses, trains, DLR and trams. London’s black taxis are plentiful and can be hailed in the street. There is a congestion charge zone for cars in central London and driving is not recommended to visitors. Price is subject to change.
