Hotel Information: One of Las Vegas' principal family-friendly hotels, Excalibur Hotel Casino is a fanciful castle topped by spires of many colors. A moat, suits of armor everywhere, and a midway create a medieval-style ambience.
Amenity highlights: The Tournament of Kings family show features medieval-style dining (no utensils), with “days of yore” entertainment, including jousting, horseback-riding skill demonstrations, hand-to-hand combat, beasts, fire, and pageantry. Adult women (some with men in tow) flock to Australia's all-male strip revue Thunder from Down Under. A massive rock garden with waterfalls and two waterslides separates the Excalibur’s two pools and giant spa tub.

The Royal Treatment Spa includes relaxation lounges, saunas, steam rooms, and spa tubs. Treatments include the Loofah Scrub, Eucalyptus Steam Wrap, Aveda Refresher Facial, and Aveda Therapy Massage. Excalibur Hotel offers 3,991 guestrooms in two 28-story towers. Medieval-themed decor includes carved headboards and wall tapestries. Furnishings include two-chair dining sets and upholstered armchairs. Televisions offer pay movies, premium cable channels, and Internet access (surcharge) via wireless keyboards.
The new Wide Screen Rooms (opened in January 2008) are located in the Spa Tower, close to the pool area and Royal Treatment Spa. Rooms feature 42-inch plasma televisions, pillowtop beds, new furnishings, new granite countertops in bathrooms, clock radios with MP3-docking stations, and in-room safes.

Getting there: Taxis cost $5–$15. Shuttle vans cost less but transport guests to various hotels in sequence rather than directly to a particular guest's hotel. Rental cars are available online.
Getting around: From early morning to after midnight, the Las Vegas Monorail ($5 for one ride, $9 for two rides, $35 for 10 rides, $15 for one-day pass, $40 for three-day pass) makes seven stops along the resort corridor, including one near this hotel and another at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Las Vegas Strip Trolley ($2 for one ride, $5 for one-day pass) operates along The Strip and to the convention center from mid-morning to after midnight. Public buses operate along The Strip and to downtown Las Vegas. Taxis are available at the hotel.

Two heated pools and a 25-person spa tub are surrounded by sundecks. One pool, shaped like an arrowhead, is 125 feet wide. The other is a 175-foot-wide freeform pool. Between the pools, a massive rock garden includes waterfalls and two water slides.
