Sixteen three-story stucco buildings ranged on the hillside overlooking Hanalei Bay offer 220 air-conditioned guestrooms designed in the style of Hawaii’s plantation era, with furnished lanais and ceiling fans.

High-speed Internet access is available for a surcharge. More than half the units are vacation rentals. Rooms are accessed via exterior corridors.

Driving directions from Lihue Airport: Exit the airport via Ahukini Rd, then turn right onto SR 51 (Kapule Hwy) north. Turn right onto SR 56 (Kuhio Hwy) and continue north for about 25 miles. Turn right onto Ka Haku Rd, then turn left onto Liholiho Rd. Turn right onto Honoiki Rd.

Getting there: The best airport transportation option to the Hanilei Bay Resort is a rental car. Car rentals are available online. Taxi service from the airport is available for more than $36; price subject to change.
