Hotel Information: With origins dating to the 1940s, the Couples Ocho Rios' tall trees and tropical foliage, expansive lawns, and flowering plants create a tranquil ambience for relaxation and romance. As the name signifies, the resort accepts only couples age 18 or older. Registration, accompanied by champagne and chilled towels, takes place while guests are seated in a breezy, marble-floor lobby with potted plants and banana-yellow walls.
Amenity highlights: Terraced above the beach are two seven-person spa tubs. The 190-meter (208-yard) beach and a sundeck around a 27 x 11 meter (90 x 35 foot) pool offer swimsuits-required sunbathing. Topless sunbathing is permitted on a pier. Nude sunbathing is confined to Tower Isle, 137 meters (150 yards) offshore and accessible by a shuttle boat during the day only. It features a stone tower for panoramic ocean viewing, a small pool with swim-up bar, and thatched-roof cabanas with hammocks.
Insider tip: In a shady jungle garden near the resort’s entrance and accessible by short paths are two secluded two-person spa tubs under wood-shingled gazebos. At the head of the paths are "vacant/occupied" signs.

An air-conditioned health-and-beauty spa with four treatment rooms (including one for couples) offers massage, reflexology, body wraps and scrubs, facials, waxing, hair braiding, and hair and nail care (surcharges for all treatments and services). A 24-hour, air-conditioned, beach-view fitness center contains cardio and weight machines as well as free weights.
A pavilion bordering the swimming pool houses an open-air games area as well as an air-conditioned games room with billiards, large-screen television, and slot machines (surcharges for tokens). Entertainment is presented nightly on a stage in an open-air buffet restaurant. An air-conditioned piano bar with rose walls, mahogany trim, banquettes, and celebrity-guest photos dating to the resort’s origins in the 1940s provides a nightly sing-a-long.
The piano bar and the lobby both provide wireless Internet access and guests can use a lobby computer to go online. A gift shop sells resort/beachwear, and a duty-free shop sells luxury goods such as jewelry and perfume. Local crafts vendors offer straw items and other goods at stalls across the street.

This all-inclusive resort offers 206 guestrooms in white buildings of up to five stories. Rooms feature French doors opening out to balconies or patios furnished with chairs and cocktail tables. Radios/CD players and televisions offering U.S. channels supply entertainment.
Decor includes white ceilings and walls, sand-colored tile floors or carpeting, straw floor mats, rattan and light-colored wood furniture, and sheer, pale curtains. King beds feature yellow cotton comforters and lounging pillows.

Driving directions from Montego Bay/Donald Sangster International Airport: Take Hwy A1 E. Follow signs toward Ocho Rios. Continue past Ocho Rios approximately 8 km (5 mi). The resort is on the left.
Getting there: This all-inclusive Jamaican resort provides complimentary airport transfers. Airport greeters direct arriving guests to the Couples desk outside the baggage claim area, where clerks arrange van transport to the resort. Taxis (US$36+) are also available (prices are subject to change without notice). Although rental cars are available online, few visitors to Jamaica rent cars unless they are comfortable driving British-style (on the left).
Getting around: The resort provides complimentary roundtrip transportation to Sandals Golf and Country Club; a horse stable for riding; Island Village in Ocho Rios for shopping; Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, and Dunn's River Falls. Taxis are available at the resort and fare to Ocho Rios is US$5–$15.

The oceanfront features a 190-meter (208-yard) beach graced by palm trees. Tower Isle, a small, rocky island featuring a stone tower for panoramic ocean viewing, lies offshore and includes a swim-up bar, thatched-roof cabanas with hammocks, a 20-person spa tub, and decks for nude sunbathing. Shuttle boats transport guests back and forth to the island all day, whenever necessary.
Numerous water sports are available, including both non-motorized sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, and sailing as well as motorized sports such as water skiing and snorkeling/scuba diving boat trips. Beginners can take advantage of resort-course scuba diving instruction and one dive. Certified divers can enjoy two dives. A full diving certification course is also available (surcharge).
Land sports include tennis on five tennis courts (three lighted) and squash on two air-conditioned squash courts; roundtrip transportation and greens fees for Sandals Golf and Country Club (clubs, carts, mandatory caddy not included); and horseback riding at a nearby stable.
