Hotel Information: Born in Jamaica, the Beaches chain of resorts caters to families and kids with myriad activities available day and night and facilities designed for all ages, from toddlers to grandparents. With the exception of one resort evening dress Italian restaurant, this 20-acre resort is laid-back casual and features open-air facilities cooled by ceiling fans. Tipping is not permitted.
Amenity highlights: Graced by almond and palm trees and furnished with lounge chairs and thatch shades, a 427-meter (1,400-foot) beachfront that runs 61 meters (200 feet) deep in places provides ample sunbathing and fun-and-games space on sand fine as sugar and nearly as white next to the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Complimentary kayaks, windsurfers, Hobie Wave sailboats, Sunfish sailboats, and snorkeling gear are available. Waterskiing, banana boating, and scuba diving and snorkeling excursions are also complimentary. A huge trampoline raft lies just off shore. An expansive main pool area includes a raised deck containing a 10-person ocean-view spa. A second, good-size pool lies in a quieter area. Both offer swim-up bars.
Insider tip: Dinner at the resort's Italian restaurant enforces resort evening dress code: dress pants for men with collared shirts, casual-elegant dress for women. No sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, swimwear, flip-flops permitted. Otherwise, dress is resort casual: nice shorts or jeans, covered swim wear, no bare feet.

Open all day and into the night, a complimentary Kids Kamp at Beaches Sandy Bay All Inclusive offers supervised activities for children in three age groups: 0-to-3, 4-to-7, and 8-to-12. The camp features air-conditioned playrooms, an outdoor toddlers' pool, an expansive playground, pool tables in an open-air pavilion, and two air-conditioned video-game rooms.
Organized family activities at pools and on the beach are available all day, beginning with a morning power walk and including hat-making lessons, Latin dancing at a beach bandstand, "aqualympics" competitions, and parent-child scavenger hunts. After-dark activities include dancing, staff-presented shows in the resort's amphitheater, karaoke, singalong piano gatherings, jazz and reggae sessions, limbo contests, and bingo.
An open-air fitness center offers free weights, cardio and weight machines, and an aerobics area. A round spa tub surrounded by a wood deck provides soaking space for 10 in a quiet courtyard outside the center. This area also includes a massage center and a beauty salon. Other resort facilities include three coin-operated laundries, two complimentary Internet-connected computers, and an open-air space containing slot machines (surcharges). Guests can also receive exclusive exchange privileges at Beaches Negril Resort & Spa which provides access to the companion property's facilities.
Roundtrip airport transportation is provided by the Beaches Resort. Arrangements can be made at the resort desk at Sangster International Airport upon arrival.

Driving directions from Sangster International Airport: Take the main road leading from the airport west towards Negril and continue until the signs to the property. The hotel is on the right.
Getting there: The most popular way to reach Beaches Sandy Bay All Inclusive is by complimentary shuttle van. After going through customs, guests stop at the hotel’s desk (shared with Sandals Negril Beach Resort) and attendants arrange transportation. Taxis and rental cars are $36+ USD. Fees subject to change without notice. Shuttle vans or private cars of varying prices are available. They can be selected during the process of booking an air-inclusive reservation for this hotel, via this Web site, and added to the total trip cost.
Getting around: Guests can travel to the sister resort of Beaches Negril Resort & Spa on complimentary shuttles. For other shopping and dining outside the property, guests usually take taxis into Negril. The hotel can arrange 2-hour taxi tours to three shopping areas in Negril for $5–$15 USD per person. Fees subject to change without notice. Taxis and minivans can be flagged down or called, but only those with red Public Passenger Vehicle (PPV) plates should be used. Local buses and private taxis are not recommended for safety reasons. Driving is not recommended for those unaccustomed to fast traffic on the left side of the road.

Use of kayaks, windsurfers, Hobie Wave sailboats, Sunfish sailboats, and snorkeling gear—all available on the beach— is complimentary. Snorkeling and scuba diving excursions are also complimentary, along with waterskiing and banana boating.
Complimentary land-based recreation includes two hard-surface tennis courts lighted for night play, aerobics, outdoor chess, shuffleboard, and basketball. Children from toddlers to pre-teens can enjoy a range of activities such as shell collecting, sand castle building, and games at Kids Kamp, open daily. A Games Center provides electronic video and table games and the resort also features a video movie cinema.

Important Information
All Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation resorts are nonsmoking in any enclosed areas. Examples are bars, restaurants, lobbies, conference facilities, retail facilities, and nightclubs.

Upon check-in, guests will be asked to tender a credit card to activate their room folio. All purchases (except those paid for with a credit card) at resort outlets will be signed to the room folio. Cash will not be accepted for incidental charges at any resort outlet.
If a credit card is unavailable, a cash deposit must be left at the front desk/concierge in order to activate the room folio. Travelers’ checks will be treated like cash and therefore can only be used at the front desk.
