Getting there: Shuttles and taxis are available outside baggage claim. Shuttles cost $5–$15 per person, taxis $26–$35. Rental cars are another option and are available online.
Getting around: Walking is the best way to get around in Waikiki. Public transportation around Honolulu and the island are also easy, with bus stops everywhere. Single bus fare anywhere is less than $5, and a four-day visitor’s pass is available for $16–$25. Taxis are readily available (phone rather than trying to hail one), and are a good choice for short trips. For excursions to various points around the island, a rental car is the best bet.
