The Barcelo Tambor Beach resort sits on a beach six km (four mi) long. A private nature preserve with a walkway from which guests can see monkeys, birds, and other wildlife is on the resort grounds.
This All-inclusive resort provides a wide variety of amenities and recreational activities, including three lighted tennis courts, gambling at a casino, and sports and sand courts. There is a swimming pool with a waterfall for children and adults. Guests of this resort also have access to the nine-hole, par 35 golf course of the adjacent Barcelo Los Delfines Golf and Country Club (surcharges). A 100-square-meter (1,076-square-foot) conference room is available for banquets, cocktails parties, and other group activities.

Getting there: By air from San José International Airport: US$75; 30 minutes. By ground transportation (bus): US$50; 4.5 hours. Bus leaves once daily at 8:30 AM (hours subject to change). Private ground transportation is also available. Guests desiring assistance with transportation between the hotel and the airport may contact the hotel directly using the phone number supplied in the booking confirmation information. Getting around: Taxis can be ordered through the hotel’s front desk and its tour agency.
