Amenity highlights: One pool complex comprises an expansive two-level pool, with the upper level cascading into a two-section lower level featuring a swim-up bar. A second pool complex features a "quiet" pool and two 20-person spa tubs overlooking the sea. Fronting the resort is part of the 10-km (six-mile) beach running along Cancún Island's eastern shore. The beach is powdery white sand with some rocks.
Insider tip: Among the three courtyards in the resort's seaside-village section is one tucked away that offers privacy, quiet, and shade for reading and conversation.

The hotel’s new VIKS Club offers a 6,324-square-foot recreation area for children. Supervised activities include video games, arts and crafts, and painting lessons. The mini water park features The Arch, a themed aquatic area with elephants, gorillas, zebras, rhinoceroses, hippopotamuses, giraffes, and a children’s pool and three waterslides. The club is open morning until early evening in the winter, and morning until evening in the summer.
Daily adult activities include pool aerobics, bingo, contests, fashion shows, cooking lessons, and athletic competitions. Nightly entertainment shows such as Mexican night and Latino night are produced by the resort's activities/entertainment staff in an air-conditioned theater. After-dark activities also include complimentary one-way transportation to the nightlife area of Cancún.
A beauty salon offers massage and hair and nail care (surcharges for all services). Massage is also available (surcharge) in an open-air beachfront tent. An air-conditioned, fitness center with mirrored walls contains cardio and weight machines as well as free weights and offers complimentary aerobics sessions. Within the resort are jewelry, clothing and gift/sundries shops. The resort purifies its water.

The Royal Solaris offers 500 air-conditioned guestrooms in two eight-story sand-colored sections. One section is a tower; the other resembles a seaside village with red-tile roofs and courtyards.
Décor includes white walls, ceilings, and crown molding, pale-gray tile floors, caramel-color furniture, and bright bedspreads. Some rooms include ground-floor terraces, some include step-out balconies, and some have no terraces or balconies.
Rooms provide 21-inch TVs with satellite programming, clock radios with CD players, and direct-dial phones with voice mail. In-room safes are available (daily surcharge).

Cancún International Airport (CUN): Approximate driving time to the Royal Solaris Cancun All Inclusive is 10 minutes and distance is 10 km (6 miles).
Driving directions from Cancún International Airport: Take airport access road going east and follow signs to Zona Hotelera and Blvd Kukulcan. Proceed north on Blvd Kukulcan, resort is located on the right side of the road, just before Km Marker 19.
Getting there: A meet-and-greet service will be at the airport. Arriving guests can look for a hotel representative holding a Royal Solaris sign. The representative will arrange complimentary transportation to the hotel. Guests must book this ground transfer four days before arrival by calling the contact number on the guest reservation confirmation. Minimum four-night stay required; written confirmation required. Otherwise, authorized taxis, available on your right as you exit the terminal, cost more than US$36 for the trip to the hotel. Price are subject to change.
Note: Only authorized taxis are allowed to transport guests from the airport to resorts. However, all taxis can take passengers to the airport from the city or Hotel Zone–cutting the fare almost in half.
Getting around: The Royal Soloaris is located within the Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone). Taxi rates in Cancún are determined by zones and the minimum fare within the Hotel Zone is US$5. (Guests should always negotiate taxi fares before beginning any trip.) Taxi fare to downtown Cancún is US$16–$25 while public and private buses are less than US$5. Car rentals are available online.
Many guests walk from this Cancun hotel to the El Rey archeological site and the scenic El Mirador lookout point. Once downtown, many tourist attractions are easily accessible on foot. For visiting Mayan ruins, taxis can be rented by the hour or day for US$36+. Mopeds are an easy, although riskier, way to get around the city and islands and are US$26–$35. Prices are subject to change.

Non-stop activities at this resort include a range of water and land sports as well as pool games, swimming contests, the Miss and Mr. Solaris contest, Perfect Couples contest, fashion shows, and bingo. Plus, there are lessons in Spanish and Latin dance as well as aerobic and other exercise sessions. Younger guests stay busy with their own Kids’ Club which offers supervised activities such as video games, arts and crafts, and painting classes. Use of snorkeling gear on the beach and pedal boats, kayaks, and windsurfers at this Cancun resort's marina on Nichupté Lagoon, the large, placid body of water lying between Cancún Island and the mainland, is complimentary.
Hotel staff can arrange other activities such as scuba diving certification courses and scuba trips, parasailing, sport fishing, and waterskiing. Two 18-hole golf courses are within 13 km (8 miles). Pok-Ta-Pok, 13.5 km (8 miles) away was designed by Robert Trent Jones and runs along the Hotel Zone, between Blvd Kukulcan and the Nichupte Lagoon. Hilton Cancún Golf Club is 3.5 km (2 miles) away.
