Amenity highlights: At the compact resort's center is a large, free-form swimming pool that includes a children's section and shallow-water shelves for relaxing on lounge chairs. The 75-yard beach of fine, nearly white sand alongside the resort includes volleyball and soccer nets, features thatched-roof palapas for shade, and provides access to the Caribbean Sea, which is usually calm in this part of Cancún.
Insider tip: Some 200 yards from the resort--across a bridge spanning a narrow channel between the Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon--is an observation tower. Passengers can buy tickets to enjoy panoramic views of Cancún and the sea.
Property Amenities
A health-and-beauty spa offers massage, body wraps and scrubs, facials, waxing, and hair and nail care (surcharges apply). The spa includes sauna, steam room, and six-person spa tub with adjacent cool-water plunge pool. Access to all is included in the All Inclusive Plan, as is a large fitness center containing cardio machines, a Universal gym, and free weights. European Plan guests pay a daily surcharge for access to these facilities.
An air-conditioned children’s clubhouse, with adjacent outdoor playground, provides daily supervised care for children ages 4-12 as part of the All Inclusive Plan. European Plan guests pay a nominal daily surcharge for their children.
The activities/entertainment staff at Barcelo Costa Cancun All Inclusive perform a show nightly on an outdoor stage and conduct games and contests daily at the pool and on the beach. On-site shopping includes gifts, liquor, jewelry, resort wear, and crafts.

Designed like a Mediterranean village facing the sea, Barcelo Costa Cancun All Inclusive offers 357 guestrooms and studios in five-to-seven-story buildings colored pale gray with white roofs and blue glass. Rooms include step-out balconies or patios with garden, pool, or ocean views. Studios include balconies or patios furnished with tables and chairs offering garden, pool, or ocean views. Flat-screen, 27-inch televisions have DVD players.
Cool, pale decor features white walls and ceilings, ivory-colored furniture, slate-colored tile floors with red-marble accents, pale-yellow bedspreads with terra-cotta-colored throw pillows, contemporary chrome floor lamps, and Mayan-inspired art on walls. Small bathrooms contain glassed-in stall showers (no tubs) and red-marble vanities. Ceiling fans offer a cooling alternative to rooms and studios' air conditioning.

Driving directions from Cancún International Airport: Exit airport, take airport access road east and take Hwy 307 north towards Cancún. Take a right onto Blvd Kukulcán, and proceed to the hotel at Km 4.5. Barcelo Costa Cancun All Inclusive is on left side of street.
Authorized taxis, minivans (or collectivos), and private cars are the best way to make the journey from the airport to your hotel. Transportation options can be accessed as you exit the terminal to your right. A private taxi to downtown Cancún: $16–$25 USD. A private taxi to the Hotel Zone: more than $36 USD. Collectivos provide transportation to downtown Cancún: $5–$15 USD. A private car service to your hotel can be arranged: more than $36 USD. Rental cars are available at the airport and on this Web site: more than $36 USD. Note: Only authorized taxis are allowed to transport guests from the airport to their hotel. However, all taxis can take passengers to the airport from the city or Hotel Zone–cutting the fare almost in half.
Getting around: The hotel is located within Zona Hotelera, or Hotel Zone, three miles from the Cancún Convention Center and three miles from downtown Cancún. Public and private buses connect the Hotel Zone to downtown and the ferries: less than $5 USD. Once downtown, most tourist attractions are easily accessible by foot. Taxi rates in Cancún are determined by zones and the minimum fare within the Cancún Hotel Zone is $5 USD per ride. A list outlining the various taxi rates throughout the city should be available at the hotel front desk: $5–$15 USD. Taxis can be rented by the hour or day to visit the historic Mayan ruins in the area: more than $36 USD. Always negotiate the taxi fare before beginning any trip. Both All Inclusive Plan and European Plan guests enjoy complimentary use of kayaks, canoes, and snorkeling gear. Introductory scuba-diving lessons in the pool are also complimentary. Additional complimentary water sports available at a marina on Nichupté Lagoon, the vast body of placid water lying between Cancún Island and the mainland, include pedal boats, Hobie Cat and Sunfish sailboats, and windsurfers. Guests must provide their own transportation to the marina, which is seven miles (11.5 km) away.
For surcharges, guests can arrange scuba-diving lessons and certification classes, snorkeling cruises, jungle tours, water skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. Independent operators on the beach rent personal watercraft and offer parasailing flights.
